"Yes this is applicable to County governments as well as municipal governments. This is a good bill and we ought to support it. Frankly, the $50K limit is pretty outdated. Hard to get a return call from a contractor for that amount. The new proposed limit would provide local government greater flexibility on larger equipment purchases as well as small works types of contracts where the cost of preparation of the contract documents for public bid exceeds the cost of the contract."
Missoula County supports Senate Bill 77 - Revise municipal contract competitive bidding law - no bid required up to $100,000 - before the Senate on 2nd reading this afternoon. SB 77 increases the $50,000 limit which is outdated. The new proposed limit would provide local government greater flexibility on larger equipment purchases as well as small works types of contracts where the cost of preparation of the contract documents for public bid exceeds the cost of the contract. Please support SB 77.

"The bill title says 'municipal' but the code is general local government, I think. Does this apply to county purchases?"
