Missoula County does not currently issue oversized permits under this statute so we did not take a position on the bill. Having the ability to retain the fees related to the bill would help in our consideration to do so, but at this time, we do not see a need to regulate these types of loads on our county roads.

Subsequent to my earlier email, I did find out that Missoula County does indeed issue oversized permits under this statute. However, they are very low volume and the permitting fees related to them is small. We would certainly support our ability to retain the fee to cover the costs incurred in our Road Fund. Sorry for my earlier confusion.
