This doesn't make any sense at all. I agree Fire District's should have workers comp insurance, but to collect it as a levy on County Taxes and place it one big bowl for all to share? Whay should Clinton taxpayers be subsidizing Frenchtown Fire Fighters? Rather than have the County collect for all why don't each of the affected Fire Districts be given levy authority especially for the cost of workers comp coverage and let them purchase and manage their own policies. The management of a workers comp and safety program is as much if not a bigger issue than the cost. The County is not equipped to provide such services.
